Our atmosphere dowstairs is something that’s hard to find anywhere else in Shanghai, and those who’ve been once usually make it the place they keep coming back to every time they go out. A lot of bars and clubs in the city sell themselves on the basis of being somewhere that will make you more sophisticated, cooler, or simply appear more wealthy - but the people who come to the Melting Pot are from all walks of life and they’re only looking for two things: to have fun and enjoy the music！ And maybe it’s because no-one really cares about anything else that we have such a sociable, inclusive vibe....come to be yourself and have a raucously good time, everyone is welcome!

You’ll find live music every day downstairs, with soul, funk, R&B, and blues from PGP and On Wednesdays and Saturday local Shanghai celebrity Wanghao performing with his band on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

On Sundays we are where Shanghai’s amateur and professional musicians, as well as new rising stars on the music scene, come to play together during our long-standing Jam Session – here you’ll find some of the funnest, most feel-good performances in the city. Every night is different so check out our line-up for what’s on tonight.

On weekends and party nights, we also include rock, rap, and even reggae. Our music is all about the performances, so any band that can give a great show is welcome on our stage.
